Monarchy or Republic?

In my view, it’s an open and shut case.  The diamond jubilee of Mrs Windsor’s ‘reign’ as Queen of the UK and various small leftover dominions and tax-havens is an opportune moment to remind us of the advantages of a republic and elected representatives.

No more – I refer you to my previous post, Royalty or Republic – a reckoning, 1 May 2011, on the occasion of the marriage (sorry ‘royal wedding’) of the Queen’s grandson.
